Our test device is delivered with preinstalled Windows 7 Professional (64-bit). In addition to a few thin leaflets and quick start posters, a Window 8 operating system DVD as well as a driver and application DVD are in the box. The built-in webcam can be used for system access via face recognition alongside the preinstalled HP Protect Tools software. Access to the system and files can be made more secure using the fingerprint reader. The compulsory slot for a Kensington lock is available for protecting the laptop against theft. This gives the devices a higher quality look and additional stability. The lid's back and the base unit's top both feature an aluminum insert. The casing of both HP laptops is mostly made of plastic. However, there are differences in the details. The ProBook 4540s cannot deny its relationship with the ProBook 4530s.
